4/6/2009Most major league teams trim their rosters during spring training, ultimately reaching the 25 man roster for opening day. Most teams send a messenger (usually a coach) who lets the affected player know the "manager needs to see you in his office". With opening day only 2 days off, Landon Powell got that "message". As he entered A's manager, Bob Geren's office he saw Geren and GM Billy Beane. The message Landon received was much better received. "Landon, your officially a major league player, congratulations".
Welcome to the Big League Mr. Powell.
