The Cary Bulls began the 2010 season with an 11-4 non-conference win against the Cary Colts. Eight different Bulls pitchers scattered 7 hits. Nine different Bulls had a hit, including Max Schrock (3b, 1b, 1R, 3RBI), Jon Grudee (2b,1R, 1SB, 1RBI), Tyler Lapp (2-1b, 1R, 2RBI), & Patrick Graham (2-1b, 2R, 1RBI). Andrew Mitchell (2BB, 2R, 2SB) used speed to aid the Bulls.

3 Bulls pitchers (Patrick Graham, Jack Sinopoli, Sean Brassington) held the Knights to 3 hits, while striking out 5. Graham got the 15-hit offensive party started, belting a RBI 2B in the 1st. In the 2nd, the Bulls pounded out 8 hits, scoring 6 runs! Tommy Robinson led off with a 1B, and scored on a switch-hit 2R HR by Tyler Lapp. After a RBI 1B by Jon Grudee, Tony Sanchez scored Andrew Mitchell on a SF. Graham followed with his second RBI 2B. Paul Accola picked up the final run on a RBI 1B. Max Schrock led off the 3rd with a shot in the RF gap, but was out trying to stretch it into a double on a perfect throw. However, David O’Donnell followed with a 2B, and, after Grudee reached base on his second HBP and Graham reached on an error, Smith Prevost had a RBI 2B. In the 5th, Brassington grooved a 2B, and Prevost drove in the final run on a RBI 1B. Brassington closed out the game striking out the side.

6 Bull pitchers (Max Povse, Sean Brassington, Will Gilbert, Paul Accola, Mike Campbell, Andrew VanGenderen) combined to hold the Knights to 3 hits in 6 innings, striking out 9. Solid defense erased 2 other threats with inning-ending DP’s. The Bulls broke out in the 3rd inning scoring 7, with consecutive 1B’s by Robbie Thorburn and Jon Grudee. “Hit-me-with-your-Best-Shot” Tommy Robinson loaded the bases with a HBP. Ryan Bouton and Brassington followed with RBI 1B’s and Tyler Lapp’s SF scored Robinson. After an IBB to Max Schrock, Gilbert singled to drive in Bouton. Tony Sanchez knocked in the final 3 runs of the inning on a hard hit ball past the 2nd baseman. The Knights answered with 2 runs in the 3rd. In the 4th, with 2 men on, Schrock blasted a 3R HR over the centerfield fence. In the 6th, Conner Chewning and Smith Provost drew walks and Jack Sinopoli singled, Dillon Cooper gapped a 2RBI 2B. Later in the inning, Tyler Pickard had a 2RBI 1B to finish the scoring with 6 Bull runs.

The Bulls open conference play blanking the Broughton Capitals 4-0.  Six Bull’s pitchers scattered 4 hits, while fanning 6 batters.  Will Gilbert, Tyler Pickard, Sean Brassington, Matthew Ratley, Micheal Campbell, and Paul Accola kept Broughton off balance all day.  The Bulls battery got things going in the 1st, with Max Schrock leading off with a 2B, and John Grudee scoring him on a RBI 1B.  In the 2nd, Ryan Bouton earned his way on with a BB, and, after being moved into scoring position by his other teammates, scored on Jack Sinopoli’s RBI 1B.  In the 3rd, Tyler Lapp and Tony Sanchez had back-to-back doubles, and Paul Accola’s RBI 1B stretched the Bulls lead to its final margin.  Many THANKS to the hard work of the grounds crew to get the field ready for the game!

Solid pitching and an explosive offense led the Bulls to a 14-3 win over Broughton. The Bulls pounded 14 hits (6 for extra-bases) and 10 different Bulls scored! The attack was led by Max Schrock (3-3, 2 x 1B, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 RS), Tyler Lapp (3-3, 2 x 2B, 1B, 1 RS), Tyler Pickard (2-3, 2B, 1B, 3 RBI) and David O'Donnell (2-3, HR, 1B, 1 RBI, 2 RS). Bulls pitchers faced 8 batters over the minimum and scattered 4 hits over 7 innings. Max Povse, Jack Sinopoli, Andrew VanGenderen, and Paul Accola combined to strikeout 9 Broughton batters, with Accola striking out the side to end the game!

A late rally and a solid relief pitching performance led the Broughton Caps to a 6-6 tie with the Cary Bulls to complete a 3-game series. After the Bulls scored 4 runs to take a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the 5th, Broughton answered with 4 runs off 4 hits in the top of the 6th inning. Broughton pitchers held the Bulls scoreless surrendering only 1 hit over the final 2 innings. Six Bulls pitchers (Smith Prevost, Patrick Graham, Tony Sanchez, David O'Donnell, Paul Accola, Sean Brassington) scattered 8 hits over 7 innings with 8 walks and 3 K's. The Bulls offense was led by Patrick Graham (2-2,1B, 2B, 1RS), Will Gilbert (1-1, 2B, 1RS) and Jonathan Grudee (1-2, 2B, 2 RBI, 1 RS). Connor Chewning received the "Team Player of the Game" award with 2 sacrifice bunts!

The Bulls struck early and held off a determined Oxford team. In the first two innings, Max Povse struck out 5, and picked off a runner after a BB. Offensively, Tommy “Bulls-eye” Robinson led off the 1st with another HBP, stole second and, after Jon Grudee beat out an infield hit, Max Schrock scored them on a 2RBI 1B. Patrick Graham executed a perfect Hit-and-Run (RBI 1B), scoring Schrock for the early 3-0 lead. In the 2nd, Will Gilbert got things started with a 1B, followed by a Robinson 1B. Schrock followed with a RBI 1B. After a 1B by Tyler Lapp to load the bases, Graham’s SF scored Robinson to open up a 5-0 lead. In the 3rd, Matt Ratley kept the Oxford at bay, shutting down the next 3 batters after surrendering the first Oxford hit. Oxford mounted a great come back, scoring 2 runs in the 4th and 1 run in the 5th. But Tyler Pickard shut the door in the 6th, and Paul Accola pitched a perfect 7th for the first save of the season.

In a game featuring Lefty pitching, Will Gilbert, Connor Chewning, and Michael Campbell combined for 7 K’s, and RP Paul Accola added one more in the 7th. In the 1st, Max Schrock, David O’Donnell, and Tyler Pickard drew BB’s, and O’Donnell put the Bulls on the board on a passed ball. Oxford answered with a run of their own, before Gilbert shut them down with back-to-back K’s. In the 2nd, the Bulls loaded the bases on a 1B,SB by Robbie Thorburn, and BB’s by Jon Grudee and Tommy Robinson. All 3 runners scored on a bases-clearing 3RBI 2B by Max Schrock, who later scored on a RBI 1B by David O’Donnell. Robbie Thorburn added a 2B in the 3rd, but the Bulls could not extend their lead … until the 4th. After drawing a BB, Schrock scored on a 2R HR blast by O’Donnell. 1B’s by Tyler’s Lapp and Pickard and 2 HBP’s to Smith Prevost and Andrew “Plunk Me” Van Genderen (2nd of the game) and a 2 RBI 1B by Thorburn added 3 more runs in the inning. In the bottom of the 4th, Oxford opened with a 3B, but Chewning slammed the door, striking out the final 2 batters. Schrock led off the 5th with a solo HR, followed by a 2B by Pickard. Pinch-runner Andrew Mitchell scored later in the inning, as Patrick Graham added a 1B. Oxford scored twice in the bottom of the 5th and after a leadoff single in the 6th, a DP cut down last threat.

The Bulls swept Vance-Kerr in a doubleheader Sunday afternoon 13-2 and 15-4. In Game 1, Bull's pitchers Jack Sinopoli, Smith Prevost and Andrew VanGenderen combined for 5 strikeouts and 3 walks, allowing just 2 runs off 3 hits over 5 innings over play. The Bull's offense pounded Vance-Kerr pitching for 10 hits, 9 of which occurred in the 4th & 5th innings. Leading hitters were Max Schrock (2-3, RBI, 2 RS), Patrick Graham (1-2, HR, 3 RBI, 2 RS), Tyler Lapp (2-2, HR, 2 RBI, 2 RS) and Smith Prevost (2-3, HR, 4 RBI ... nice Grand Slam! & 2 RS).

In the nightcap, pitchers Matt Ratley, Sean Brassington, Paul Accola and Andrew VanGenderen scattered 4 runs off 9 hits (5 K's, 3 BB) in 7 innings of play. Bulls hitters stroked 15 hits and scored 15 runs (10 runs in the last 2 innings!!!). Leading hitters were Jonathan Grudee (2-2, HR, RBI, 2 RS), Dillon Cooper (1-2, 2B, 1 RS), David O'Donnell (2-2, RBI, 2 RS), Tyler Lapp (1-1, RBI, 2 SAC, 2 RS), Patrick Graham (3-3, HR, 3 RBI, 2 RS), Tommy Robinson (2-3, 2B, 5 RBI) and Max Schrock (1-2, HR, 2 RBI, 2 RS). Highlight of the game was Max Schrock stealing HOME in the 6th inning! Ryan "Bobby" Bouton wins the "Monopoly Community Chest" award for receiving two free passes (aka, base on balls) and passing "GO" twice (aka, scored). Ryan ... tell your folks they owe you $400!!!

The Bulls and Colts split a doubleheader Thursday night with the Bulls shutting-out the Colts 4-0 in the opener and the Colts rallying for to defeat the Bulls 6-5 in the nightcap.

In Game 1, Max Povse, Smith Prevost, Tyler Pickard and Paul Accola scattered 3 hits over 7 innings and allowed very few baserunners. Tommy Robinson started the Bulls offense in the first inning, scoring off Tyler Lapp's RBI single. Lapp scored in the 4th off an RBI single by Patrick Graham. In the 5th inning, Robinson scored again off a fielder's choice and Jonathan Grundee scored off Max Schrock's RBI single to take a 4-0 lead.

In the second game, the Bulls scored 5 runs off 9 hits. Andrew Mitchell scored first in the 3rd as Dillon Cooper reached base safely off a Colts fielding error. David O'Donnell lead-off the 4th on a walk and advanced to 3rd base off a Smith Prevost double to left-center. O'Donnell then scored on Tony Sanchez's sacrifice fly. Prevost scored off an RBI double by Patrick Graham. The Bulls added two more in the 7th. Tyler Lapp walked, stole second and advanced to 3rd on a Colt's throwing error. Lapp scored on a Jonathan Grundee RBI double; Grundee advanced to 3rd on Dillon Cooper ground ball to the right side of the infield and then scored on Nick Adonna's RBI single to right center. Bulls pitchers Will Gilbert, Matt Ratley, Patrick Graham, Paul Accola and Tyler Pickard allowed 6 runs off 10 hits.

The Bulls blanked Ravenscroft 10-0. Connor Chewning, Michael Campbell, Matt Ratley & Tony Sanchez combined for 6 strikeouts over 6 shutout innings, allowing only 1 hit. The Bulls defense allowed only 3 Ravenscroft runners to reach 2nd base! Ryan Bouton (2-2, 2 RS) started the 2nd inning with a single to left and scored on David O'Donnell's RBI single. In the 3rd, Michael Campbell singled, stole second and scored on a couple of Ravenscroft fielding errors. Tyler Lapp walked and advanced to second on a Ryan Bouton single. Jack Sinopoli followed with a single and advanced to second as Max Povse reached base safely on a fielding error. Lapp scored on Conner Chewning's walk and Sinopoli scored on a sacrifice fly by Andrew Mitchell. The Bulls took a 5-0 lead after Max Povse scored on a fielding error. Max Schrock (2-2, RBI, RS) leadoff the 4th inning with a single and later scored on an RBI double by Tyler Lapp. In the 5th, Tommy Robinson advanced on a single by Tony Sanchez. Tyler Pickard (2-2, RBI, RS) singled and advanced to second on a passed ball. Sanchez scored on a RBI single by Max Schrock and Pickard scored on a fielder's choice as the Ravenscroft SS dove to knockdown a Matt Ratley linedrive, giving the Bulls a 9-0 lead. Jack Sinopoli reached base to leadoff the 6th inning, advanced to third on singles by Nick Adonna and Tommy Robinson and scored on a walk-off RBI single by Tyler Pickard.

The Bulls were in command early, with Max Povse shutting out Ahoskie for the first two innings. In the 1st, Tommy Robinson’s lead-off 2B could not be capitalized on. But in the 2nd, Ryan Bouton’s 2B with 2 out eventually led to a run by pinch runner Andrew Mitchell. In the 3rd, Jonathon Grudee’s 1B set up a 2-out RBI 1B by Jack Sinopoli. But in the bottom half of the 3rd, Ahoskie bats pounded out 3 2B’s and a 3-run HR, putting up 6 runs. Connor Chewning was brought on in relief, and shut the door for the remaining 3 2/3 innings. The Bulls mounted a strong 5th, led off by David O’Donnell’s 1B, followed by a Robinson BB, and a Grudee 1B to load the bases. Patrick Graham’s RBI 1B, Sinopoli’s RBI ground out, and a Tony Sanchez RBI 1B closed the margin with 3 runs. In the 6th, O’Donnell singled, but was the tying run was stranded at 2nd.

The determined Bulls struck early against Edenton and pounded out 17 hits, while playing solid defense. In the 1st, Dillon Cooper’s 1B, followed by Robbie Thorburn’s 2B, set up David O’Donnell’s 2 RBI 2B. Ryan Bouton picked up O’Donnell with his second 2B of the day. In the 2nd, Michael Campbell led off with a 1B, stole 2nd, and scored on Jonathon Grudee’s RBI 2B. After a Sac Bunt by Andrew Mitchell, Cooper’s FC drove in Grudee. In the 3rd, Tyler Lapp’s lead-off 2B set up a RBI 1B by Max Povse. In the 4th, Jack Sinopoli’s came around to score after a lead-off 1B, as Thorburn added a 1B. In the 6th, Sinopoli led off with a solo HR, followed by a Cooper 2B, who later scored on a Matt Ratley RBI 1B. 3 Bulls pitchers shut down the Edenton hitters, with Will Gilbert striking out the side in the first 2 innings. Michael Campbell allowed only 1 hit, and forced an inning-ending DP to keep Edenton scoreless. Paul Accola sealed the deal, pitching the remaining 3 innings, and scattering 2 (1 ER) runs.

Max Schrock's two-run blast and a solid pitching performance by Patrick Graham powered the Bulls to a 5-2 victory over Leesville Road Tuesday night. Jack Sinopoli scored and tied the game in the 2nd scoring on Tony Sanchez's RBI single. Nick Adonna opened the 3rd inning with a double to right center and scored on a fielding error following a Tommy Robinson sacrifice bunt. With Robinson on 2nd base, Schrock nailed a 3-2 pitch over the right field fence to give the Bulls a 3-run lead. Jonathan Grudee followed with a double to left and later scored on Patrick Graham's RBI single giving the Bulls a 5-1 lead. After the lead-off Leesville batter walked and later scored to start the game, Max Povse and Matt Ratley shutdown Leesville's batters surrendering only 2 hits over 3+ innings. Patrick Graham relieved Ratley and pitched 2.2 scoreless no-hit innings. Graham re-entered after relief appearances by Paul Accola and Jack Sinopoli to retire the final 3 batters and secure the win for the Bulls. Overall, Graham pitched 3.1 scoreless innings allowing just 1 hit and 3 strikeouts!!!

Bull's pitchers blanked Ravenscroft 10-0 in five innings of play. Connor Chewning (2.0 IP, 2 hits, 3K's), Smith Prevost (2.0 IP, 0 hits, 2K's) & Tommy Robinson (1.0 IP, 1 hit) combined for a solid pitching performance and allowed only 6 Ravenscroft baserunners. The Bulls scored two runs in the 1st. Will Gilbert tripled to drive-in Tony Sanchez and scored on an RBI single by David O'Donnell. After leading-off the 2nd with a walk and advancing on a wild-pitch, Tyler Lapp scored on Matt Ratley's perfectly executed "hit-and-run" RBI single. Tommy Robinson reached on a fielder's choice and stole second and third and later scored on Sanchez's RBI single. Will Gilbert followed with a base hit and both Sanchez and Gilbert scored on fielding errors to give the Bulls a 6-0 lead after two innings. In the 4th, Gilbert and Patrick reached base on a single and walk, respectively, and scored on Nick Adonna's double off the left-centerfield wall. Adonna then scored off Ryan Bouton's RBI single to give the Bull's a 9-0 lead. In the 5th, Sanchez doubled and scored on Max Povse's "walk-off" RBI single. Gilbert (3-4, 3B, RBI) and Sanchez (2-4, 2B, RBI) scored 3 runs each to lead the Bulls.

The Bulls blanked Leesville Road in a twin-billing Thursday night taking the first game 6-0 and the nightcap 4-0. Strong pitching performances by Max Povse (3.0 IP, 2 hits, 5 K's) and Will Gilbert (3.0 IP, 0 hits, 6 K's) led a Bulls defense that only 3 Leesville runners to reach 2B. Povse struckout 4 of the last 6 batters he faced, and after walking the first 2 batters of his relief appearance, Gilbert came back strong and fanned the next 4 batters! Matt Ratley closed out the game allowing no hits. Tommy Robinson led-off the game with a single to left-center and scored on Tony Sanchez's RBI double. Jack Sinopoli started the 2nd inning with a walk, advanced on Ryan Bouton's sacrifice bunt and later scored. Sanchez led-off the 3rd on his second double of the game and later scored on Jack Sinopoli's sacrifice fly to left. In the 5th, Max Schrock led-off with a double and advanced to third on Robbie Thorburn's single. Schrock scored on a fielder's choice. Grudee walked, stole second and scored on an RBI single by Patrick Graham. Graham scored on Tyler Lapp's RBI double to give the Bull's a 6-0 lead.

In the 2nd game, Andrew Mitchell led-off the 1st with a single. After a stolen base, Mitchell advanced to third on Will Gilbert's sacrifice bunt. After his RBI double scored Mitchell, Tyler Pickard advanced to third on Max Schrock's single and later scored on a hit by Robbie Thorburn. With two outs in the 2nd, Andrew Mitchell walked & stole second and scored again on a fielding error. Robbie Thorburn drove in his second run in 2 innings with a single that scored Jonathan Grudee. For the evening, Pickard and Thorburn led all Bull's hitters with 3 hits each! Jack Sinopoli (3.0 IP, 1 hit, 3 K's), Paul Accola (2.0 IP, 1 hit, 3 K's) and Tyler Pickard (2.0 IP, 0 hits, 1 K) teamed to hold Leesville Road to just two hits. Once again, allowing only 3 batters reaching second base!

Bulls hitters opened with a first inning 5-run burst leading the Bulls to a 10-2 victory. Tyler Lapp's bases-loaded 2 RBI single scored Tommy Robinson and Jonathan Grudee. Patrick Graham scored next on a fielder's choice and Lapp and Jack Sinopoli scored on a 2-run single by David O'Donnell. But after a shaky start, North Raleigh pitching settled in and blanked the Bulls over the next 2 innings. However, David O'Donnell's lead-off triple got the offense cranking again. O'Donnell scored on Nick Adonna's sacrifice fly to center and then consecutive singles by Will Gilbert, Jonathan Grudee and Patrick Graham loaded the bases once again for Tyler Lapp. Gilbert and Grudee scored on Lapp's single to give the Bulls an 8-1 advantage. Tyler Pickard, who was hit by a pitch to start the 6th, advanced to third on Smith Prevost's double to left-center and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jack Sinopoli. Robbie Thorburn capped the Bull's scoring in the top of the 7th with a triple, later scoring on an error to give the Bull's a 10-2 lead. Bulls pitching kept North Raleigh hitters off-balance throughout the day. Connor Chewning (3.0 IP, 0 runs, 0 hits, 2k, 2BB), Smith Prevost (2.0 IP, 1 run, 1 hit, 2k, 1BB), Matt Ratley (1.0 IP, 0 runs, 0 hits, 2k, 1BB) and David O'Donnell (1.0 IP, 0 runs, 0 hits) combined for a one-hitter!

The Bulls pounded out 19-hits and scored in every inning to shutout North Raleigh 11-0. In the 1st, Will Gilbert singled and later scored on Tony Sanchez's RBI single. Smith Prevost walked and scored on Patrick Graham's single to give the Bulls a 2-0 lead. Robbie Thorburn reached on an error in the 2nd and scored on Gilbert's RBI double. In the 3rd, Sanchez lead-off with a single and showed his "blazing speed" scoring on an RBI-double by Graham. Graham advanced on a David O'Donnell single and later scored on a Tommy Robinson hit to give the Bulls a 5-0 lead. Sanchez doubled in the 4th and scored on Graham's third hit in 5-innings to make the score 6-0. A Ryan Bouton lead-off single followed by Robbie Thorburn's second triple of the day gave the Bulls another run. Jack Sinopoli's sacrifice fly scored Thorburn to give Cary a 8-0 lead. Sanchez reached on error to lead-off the 6th and later scored on Max Povse's RBI double. In the 7th, Sinopoli doubled and later scored on Jonathan Grudee's opposite field triple. Grudee scored on Sanchez's 4th hit of the day, an RBI triple to right, which left Sanchez a HR short of the cycle!!! For the second consecutive game, Bull's pitchers delivered a strong performance as they faced only one hitter over the minimum. Paul Accola opened with a strong outing, striking out 4 and allowing 1 hit over 3 innings. Tony Sanchez followed with two shutout innings, fanning 2 batters. Matt Ratley and David O'Donnell made their second relief appearances of the day combing for two strikeouts over the final two innings of play. Not only did the Bulls deliver another shutout, for the first game this year, Bull's pitching allowed no walks over seven innings of play!!!

The Bulls were pressed by a determined Roxboro team. The Bulls took the early lead in the 2nd, as Jack Sinopoli led off with a 2B. Ryan Bouton’s 1B and a BB by David O’Donnell set the table for Nick Addona’s RBI 1B. Tommy Robinson followed with a RBI BB scoring pinch-runner Robbis Thorburn and Jonathon Grudee’s RBI SF put the Bulls up 3-0. Roxboro responded in the 2nd scoring 2 unearned runs. In the 3rd, Roxboro scored 2 more runs off starter Max Povse, who also struck out 5 and allowing only 1 hit. But in the 4th, the Bulls responded, as O’Donnell’s 2B and Adonna’s SB set up a Robinson RBI 1B. Grudee followed with his second 1B, driving in Robinson. Patrick Graham drove in Grudee with a RBI 1B, as the Bulls seized back the lead. Roxboro came back in the bottom half, scoring 1 run on 1 hit. In the 5th, Tony Sanchez led off with a solo HR, sparking a 6 run rally. After Thorburn’s BB, and Adonna’s 1B, Robinson’s second RBI 1B set up a Grudee 3-R HR blast. Graham kept the pressure coming with his second 1B, scoring on a Sanchez RBI 1B. In the 6th, the Bulls scored their final run on a 1B by Thorburn, and a RBI 1B by Adonna. Tyler Pickard masterfully pitched the remaining 3 2/3 innings to finish the game as the skies opened up.

The Bulls needed 8-innings to put away a pesky Panther Creek squad, 6-2, in a game that was plagued with inclement weather. Bulls pitchers Will Gilbert, Tyler Pickard, Patrick Graham & Paul Accola scattered 3 hits and struckout 6 batters while surrendering 5 walks during the 2-day contest. After allowing two runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning, the Bulls shutdown Panther Creek's offense with Accola leading the way pitching the final 4 innings of play. The Bulls got on the scoreboard in the top of the 2nd. Patrick Graham led-off with a single to center and a stolen base and advanced to third base on Tony Sanchez's bunt single. Ryan Bouton's sacrifice bunt scored Graham and a passed ball scored Sanchez to give the Bull's a 2-0 lead. The Bulls produced 6 hits over the next 5 innings but stranded 6 baserunners including runners at 2nd & 3rd with no outs in the 6th inning. In the top of the 8th, Graham lead the charge again with a lead-off single and advanced on Jack Sinopoli's sacrifice bunt. Graham scored on Tyler Lapp's RBI single to right to give the Bulls a lead they would not surrender. Smith Prevost's single advanced Lapp and both runners moved-up a base on a Panther Creek fielding error. Lapp scored on a wild pitch and after Paul Accola reached base on a walk, pinch-runner Andrew Mitchell's delayed steal confused Panther Creek fielders who threw the ball away allowing Prevost to score and Mitch to advance to 3rd base. Mitch scored on a sacrifice fly by Will Gilbert to secure a 6-2 victory for the Bulls.

Robbie Thorburn's walk-off single in extra innings powered the Bulls to its second victory in two days over a determined Panther Creek squad. Panther Creek (PC) got off to a quick start scoring 3 runs off 3 hits to take a 3-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning. The Bulls answered with a single run in the bottom of the 3rd when Ryan Bouton scored on a sacrifice fly by Patrick Graham. After reaching base on a single and walk, respectively, in the bottom of the 4th inning, David O'Donnell and Smith Prevost scored on an RBI single by Bouton to give the Bulls a 4-3 lead. PC answered immediately, taking advantage of Bulls fielding errors and a "suicide squeeze" to retake the lead 5-4. In the 5th, the Bulls tied the game when Andrew Mitchell, who reached base on an infield single and advanced on an error, scored on Jack Sinopoli's RBI double. Solid pitching blanked both teams over the next few innings but the stage for a walk-off was set when Sinopoli led-off the bottom of the 8th with a single and advanced on David O'Donnell's sacrifice bunt and a putout. After PC intentionally walked the bases full with two outs, Thorburn lined the 4th pitch into right center to score Sinopoli and give the Bulls another victory. Bull's pitchers Tyler Pickard, Matt Ratley, Jack Sinopoli and Patrick Graham scattered 6 hits and struckout 4, while walking 5 batters.

Panther Creek (PC) sent 17 batters to the plate in the first two innings and scored its first 3 hitters in each inning to beat the Bulls in the final contest of the 3-game series. Bulls pitchers Connor Chewning, Will Gilbert, Smith Prevost, Matt Ratley and Jonathan Grudee surrendered 10 runs off 6 hits, 5 walks and 5 errors. Grudee made his pitching debut allowing 1 hit and striking out 3 in 2.1 innings of play! With two outs in the 2nd inning, Smith Prevost doubled and then scored on Ryan Bouton's RBI double to right center. The Bulls were blanked over the next two innings but with 2-outs in the 5th inning, Tyler Pickard reached base on error and then scored on another fielding error after a Jonathan Grudee single. Robbie Thorburn walked and after advancing on a passed ball with Grudee, both scored on Patrick Graham's double to center. Tyler Lapp followed with another double scoring Graham to cut PC's lead in half to 10-5. In the 6th, after reaching on an error, Prevost scored on Tyler Pickard's double. Grudee's RBI single scored Bouton to make the score 10-7. With the bases loaded, PC made a pitching change and the Catamounts retired the final four Bulls batters, ending the game 10-7.

Durham scored 3 runs over the final 3 innings of play to win 3-2 at Durham Riverside HS, giving the Bulls consecutive losses for the first time this season. Bull's pitching (Matt Ratley, Connor Chewning, Patrick Graham, Paul Accola, Jonathan Grudee) yielded only 5 hits and combined for 4 strikeouts and 5 walks, holding Durham scoreless through 4 innings of play. The Bulls got on the board first in the 2nd inning when David O'Donnell walked and advanced on a passed ball. O'Donnell advanced to third on Jack Sinopoli's single and scored on Ryan Bouton's RBI single. The Bulls threatened again in the 3rd and 4th innings but couldn't punch a run across until the 5th. The Bulls took a 2-0 lead when Robbie Thorburn led-off with a walk, advanced to third on a passed ball and a wild pitch and scored on Tyler Lapp's 2-out RBI single to centerfield. However, Durham took advantage of 5 hits and 3 fielding errors in the final three innings for a come from behind win.

Inspired by the setting of the historic Durham Athletic Park, the Bulls exploded for 10 runs in the top of the 3rd inning and beat Durham 11-1 in five innings of play. Pitchers Will Gilbert, Jack Sinopoli and Smith Prevost surrendered a single run off 5 hits, 3 strikeouts and 4 walks. Jonathan Grudee led-off the game with a walk and used pure hustle and heads-up base running to give the Bulls a 1-0 lead after Durham misplayed Robbie Thorburn's sacrifice bunt. In the 3rd inning, after leading-off with consecutive singles, Grudee and Thorburn scored on Patrick Graham's double. Ryan Bouton walked and Tyler Pickard blasted an RBI single to left scoring Graham to giving the Bulls a 4-0 lead. After Bouton and Pickard advanced on a wild pitch, Durham elected to load the bases awarding an intentional walk to Jack Sinopoli. Simply put ... the Bulls made it hurt! Nick Adonna's single to right scored Bouton. Andrew Mitchell fought-off a 2-strike pitch to drive a single to left scoring Pickard. Grudee pounded a double to right-center scoring Sinopoli and Adonna giving him his second hit of the inning. Thorburn took Grudee's lead and collected his second hit of the inning scoring Mitchell and Grudee. Then Graham matched the effort with his second double of the inning, advancing Thorburn, who later scored on a pitcher's balk. After the dust settled, the Bulls had sent 14 hitters to the plate and scored 10 runs off 9 hits and 2 walks!!!

In a special day dedicated to Dad's everywhere, the Bulls took advantage of a big 1st inning and pounded North Raleigh 12-2 in five innings of play. After North Raleigh took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st, the Bulls answered with 9 runs off 8 hits. Lead-off man Tommy Robinson reached base safely on a fielding error, advanced on Jonathan Grudee's single and scored on Tyler Lapp's RBI single. Ryan Bouton's blast to right center scored Grudee and Lapp. Connor Chewning singled and advanced on Matt Ratley's sacrifice bunt. Chewning scored on Nick Adonna's RBI single and when Ratley scored on a wild pitch, the Bulls had a 5-2 lead. Robinson's single scored Patrick Graham, who reached on a fielder's choice, and scored along with Adonna on Grudee's triple to right center to give the Bulls a 9-2 lead. It was the second time in as many games that Grudee collected 2 hits in the same inning!!! With 2 outs in the 2nd, Patrick Graham singled, advanced on Adonna's second hit of the day and scored on Robbie Thorburn's single to right to give the Bulls a 10-2 lead. In the bottom of the 5th, Grudee walked and advanced when Lapp reached base safely on a fielding error. Grudee scored on another N. Raleigh fielding error off Smith Prevost's bat. The game ended early when Lapp scored on David O'Donnell's fielders choice. Smith Prevost and David O'Donnell combined to hold N. Raleigh to 2 runs, 4 hits, 2 strikeouts and 3 walks.

The Bulls took advantage of solid pitching and an error-less defense to blank North Raleigh 2-0 in the second game of a Sunday doubleheader. Will Gilbert, Jack Sinopoli and Patrick Graham surrendered only 3 hits, striking out 10 and walking 3 in a 7-inning shutout. Tyler Pickard led-off the 2nd inning with a single, stole second and third and scored on Smith Prevost's RBI single to give the Bulls a 1-0 lead. Prevost stole second and third as well, but was stranded as the Bulls were unable to advance him. The Bulls scored its other run in the bottom of the 4th. Tyler Lapp, after reaching base on a fielding error and stealing second, scored on Tommy Robinson's two-out RBI single to center to give the Bulls a 2-0 lead. After the game, the Bulls Dad's soothed their aches and pains with ibuprofen, ice packs and ice-cold, delicious watermelon.

The Bulls sent 24 batters to the plate and exploded for 15 runs in the first two innings in a 21-3 win over Enloe. Leading hitters were Tommy Robinson (2-2, 2B, 3RBI, 2RS), Jonathan Grudee (3-3, HR, 5RBI, 2RS), Tony Sanchez (3-4, RBI, 2RS), Tyler Lapp (2-3, 2x2B, RS), Jack Sinopoli (2-3, 2B, 2RS), David O'Donnell (2-2, 2RBI, 3RS) and Nick Adonna (3-4, RBI, 3RS). Matt Ratley started on the mound and struck out the side in 1 inning of work. Paul Accolla, Connor Chewning, Smith Prevost combined to strikeout 6 and allow 3 hits over 4 innings.

The Bulls captured their second win of the week over Enloe, 11-2. Andrew Mitchell and Jonathan Grudee scored on Robbie Thornburn's single to take a 2-0 lead. Thorburn scored on Will Gilbert's ground ball out to give the Bulls a 3-0 lead in the 1st. In the top of the 2nd, David O'Donnell singled and scored on Tony Sanchez's 2-run blast to give the Bulls a 5-0 lead. In the 4th, Andrew Mitchell singled and advanced on Dillon Cooper's single to right center. Mitchell scored on Tyler Pickard's fielders choice and Cooper scored on an RBI single by Thorburn. Pickard scored on Smith Prevost's fielder's choice and when Thorburn scored on David O'Donnell's single, the Bulls had a 9-0 lead. The Bulls were held scoreless until the top of the 7th when Patrick Graham led-off with a walk and scored on Jonathan Grudee's 2-run HR to center. Patrick Graham, Tony Sanchez, Jack Sinopoli and Matt Ratley combined on the hill for the Bulls. The staff allowed 2 runs off 4 hits and 2 errors. The staff combined for 7 strikeouts and 4 walks.

Tony Sanchez capped a 4-for-4, 7 RBI performance with a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the 5th inning, powering the Bulls to a 13-3 victory in the opener of Saturday's double-header with South Hill, VA, 13-3. The Bulls scored first with Andrew Mitchell scoring on Tony Sanchez's RBI single in the bottom of the 1st inning. Mitchell scored again in the 3rd ... after reaching base on a fielding error and stealing second, Mitchell scampered home on Sanchez's second RBI of the day. Sanchez advanced on Patrick Graham's single and scored when Tyler Lapp reached base safely on a fielding error. When Graham scored on Ryan Bouton's sacrifice fly, the Bulls led 4-0 after three innings. Dillon Cooper opened a 5-run 4th with a single to rightcenter and advanced to 3rd on Mitchell's single. Cooper scored on a fielding error and after Tommy Robinson walked, Sanchez brought Mitchell home for the third time in the game with an RBI double to right. Patrick Graham followed with a double to rightcenter, scoring Robinson and Sanchez and when Graham later scored on a fielding error, the Bulls had a 9-1 advantage after 4 innings. After surrendering 2 runs in the top of the 5th, Cooper, Smith Prevost and Robinson delivered consecutive singles loading the bases for Sanchez, who took a 1-2 pitch with no outs deep over the rightfield fence to secure a 13-3 win in five innings. Will Gilbert pitched four strong innings (1 run, 3 hits, 6 k's, 1 BB) and was backed by a strong Bull's defense that committed only 1 error. Jack Sinopoli closed the game pitching one inning, allowing 2 runs off 3 hits with 1 strikeout.

A solid, errorless defence backed strong pitching performances from Paul Accola and Patrick Graham, leading the Bulls to a 13-2 victory over South Hill, VA in the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader. Accola allowed 2 runs off 3 hits over 2+ innings. After taking a lineshot off the leg, he turned the game over the Graham who pitched 2+ no-hit, scoreless innings. Tyler Pickard led-off the bottom of the 2nd inning with a single and advanced on Matt Ratley's bunt single. Pickard scored on a throwing error and Ratley scored on Smith Prevost's RBI double. Tyler Lapp followed with a walk, advancing Prevost who later scored on Patrick Graham's sacrifice fly. Tommy Robinson doubled down the rightfield line, scoring Lapp and later scored on a South Hill fielding error giving the Bulls a 5-0 lead. South Hill answered with 2 runs in the top of the 3rd inning. Will Gilbert led-off the 3rd inning with a walk and scored on Pickard's RBI double. Ratley followed with an RBI single to center, scoring Pickard and giving the Bulls a 7-2 lead. Lapp capped the inning with a solo blast to leftcenter giving the Bulls a 8-2 lead after 3 innings. Robinson led-off the 4th with a walk and advanced on Robbie Thorburn's single. Gilbert single scored Robinson and Thorburn advanced on Tyler Pickard's fielders choice. Ratley followed with an RBI, scoring Thorburn and after an infield fly gave the Bulls 2-outs with 2-runners on, Lapp hit what everyone but the field umpire thought was his 2nd homer of the game. However, the hit was ruled as a double ... Pickard and Ratley scored giving Lapp 3 RBI's on the day. Graham double to rightcenter scored Lapp giving the Bulls its final run and a 13-2 victory.

Outstanding pitching and an error-less defense proved to be the differences as West Johnson handed the Bulls their 5th loss of the season, 3-1. West Johnson's lone pitcher put together a gem ... a complete-game, one-hitter with the Bulls lone single coming off the bat of Tommy Robinson in the top of the 4th inning. The Bulls scored its only run in the top of the 5th. After being hit by a pitch, Tyler Lapp advanced on a passed ball and Ryan Bouton's ground ball putout. Lapp then scored on Jack Sinopoli's ground ball putout. The Bulls used four pitchers ... Max Povse (1.1 IP, 2R, 4H, 2K, 1BB), Patrick Graham (1.1 IP, 1H, 1K), Paul Accola (2.0 IP, 2H, 1K, 1BB) and Matt Ratley (1.1 IP, 1R, 3H, 1K, 1BB). However, 3 untimely errors cost the staff 2 unearned runs and a shot at locking-up the conference championship.

West Johnson took advantage of four fielding errors in the 6th inning to rally for 7 unanswered runs and defeat the Bulls for the second time in a week, 8-6. The Bulls Will Gilbert battled West Johnson for 5+ innings and delivered an outstanding pitching performance. Gilbert registered 7 k's and no walks over 5.2 innings, allowing 5 runs (2 earned) and 6 hits (5 singles). West Johnson scored first and held a 1-0 lead until the bottom of the 2nd. Ryan Bouton led-off with a single and advanced on Jack Sinopoli's sacrifice bunt. With 2 outs, Nick Addona walked and Tommy Robinson singled to load the bases. Jonathan Grudee battled to a full-count walk to tie the game 1-1. In the bottom of the 4th, the Bulls exploded for 5 runs to take a 6-1 lead. Sinopoli led-off with a walk and advanced on Will Gilbert's slash-bunt single. Robinson walked to load the bases and Grudee collected his second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly to score Sinopoli. Patrick Graham was hit by a pitch and Robbie Thorburn, running for Gilbert, scored on a wild pitch. Robinson and Graham scored on Tyler Lapp's RBI double who, after advancing on another wild pitch, scored on Tony Sanchez's single to left center giving the Bulls its first lead of the series. After both teams failed to score in the 5th, West Johnson took advantage of 4 hits and 4 errors to narrow the Bulls lead to 6-5 in the 6th inning. West Johnson then scored 3 more runs in the top of the 7th, capitalizing on a couple of walks, a hit batter and a timely base hit to win the game and clinch the conference championship.

After rallying from a 7-2 deficit, the Bulls surrendered 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th to lose to Roxboro, 14-13. The coaching staff utilized 6 pitchers as the Bulls staff struggled most of the night. Max Povse, Matt Ratley, Johnathan Grudee, Smith Prevost, Paul Accola and Jack Sinopoli combined to face 43 batters, allowing 14 runs off 12 hits, 9 walks, 2 hit-batters and 4 errors. Roxboro used 2 pitchers who struckout 13 and allowed 13 runs off 12 hits, 5 walks and 7 errors. The Bulls scored its first run when Jonathan Grudee singled in the 1st inning and later scored on a wild pitch. Dillon Cooper added another run with a 2-out single in the 2nd, scoring on Patrick Graham's RBI single. Roxboro shutdown the Bulls until the top of the 5th when Patrick Graham slammed a 1-out double into right center and scored 2 pitches later on Tyler Lapp's 2-run shot over the right center field fence. Leading-off the 6th inning, Will Gilbert reached base on a fielding error and scored on Tony Sanchez's RBI double. Sanchez advanced on Andrew Mitchell's sacrifice bunt and scored when Roxboro's second fielding error of the inning allowed Grudee to reach base safely. Grudee later took advantage of a throwing error to give the Bulls its third run of the inning. Down 10-7 in the top of the 7th, Tyler Pickard started the rally with a walk and advanced when Smith Prevost reached safely on error. Sanchez's double to right center scored Pickard and Prevost. Sanchez scored on a throwing error after advancing on Mitchell's 2nd single of the game to tie the game 10-10. The Bulls shutdown Roxboro in the bottom of the 7th to take the game into extra innings. After reaching safely on another Roxboro error, David O'Donnell advanced on Pickard's single; both runners advanced on a passed ball to give the Bulls runners on 1st and 2nd with one out. After Gilbert's 2-out walk loaded the bases, Cooper re-entered and hit a lineshot on the first pitch to score O'Donnell and Pickard. When Gilbert scored on Mitchell's third hit of the game, the Bulls had a 13-10 lead going into the bottom of the 8th. However, Roxboro took advantage of 3 hits (including a lead-off HR), a walk, a hit-batter and a fielding error to rally for 4 runs and a 14-13 win.

The Bulls shutout Roxboro after the 3rd inning and took advantage of 4-run 2nd inspired by "small ball" to take the nightcap of a double-header, 8-7. David O'Donnell, Tyler Pickard and Patrick Graham combined to strikeout 10 and allow 7 runs off 13 hits, 3 walks and 1 error. Entering in relief with runners on 1st and 2nd with one out and the game deadlocked 7-7, Graham pitched the final 2.2 innings striking out 7 of the 9 batters he faced! Trailing 2-0 in the top of the 2nd, Matt Ratley led-off with a bunt single and advanced on a wildpitch. After advancing on another bunt single by Smith Prevost, Ratley scored on Robbie Thorburn's bunt single. Will Gilbert followed with a "slash bunt" single, advancing Prevost who later scored on Andrew Mitchell's fielder's choice. David O'Donnell followed with a 2-out RBI double, scoring Mitchell and giving the Bulls had a 4-2 lead. With the Bulls trailing 7-4, Max Povse led-off with a double off the right-center field fence. Povse advanced on Matt Ratley's single to right and scored when Tony Sanchez followed with an RBI single. Prevost's second hit of the game advanced Ratley and Sanchez and after both players scored on a wild pitch, the game was tied 7-7. In the top of the 7th, Pickard led-off with a double and later advanced to 3rd. Prevost's 1-out sacrifice fly scored Pickard to give the Bulls an 8-7 lead. Graham shut the door on Roxboro, striking out 3 of the final 4 batters and overcoming a few questionable calls that forced the Bulls to record more 3-outs in several innings during the night.

The Bulls opened the tournament play with a explosion in the 7th inning to finish off a pesky N. Nash team. N. Nash got on the board in the 1st, turning 3 hits in a run. In the 2nd, Tyler Lapp blasted a solo HR to tie up the game. In the 3rd, Tony Sanchez reached on an error, moved to second on a 1B by Patrick Graham, and scored on a Lapp RBI 2B. Nash answered with 2 runs of their own off 3 hits, taking a brief lead. But in the 4th, Jack Sinopoli got dialed in on the mound, striking out 4 of the next 6 batters and silenced the Nash bats. Sinopoli also got the offense going in the 4th, leading off with a 1B, and after a Tommy Robinson BB and Jonathon Grudee 1B, Sanchez’s RBI 1B put the Bulls ahead for good. Graham’s infield grounder created an error, and Robinson and Grudee scored. In the 7th, the Bulls scored 9 runs on a series of walks, errors, capped by RBI 1B’s by Matt Ratley, David O’Donnell, and Tommy Cooper. Matt Ratley closed out the game, striking out one.

Max Povse blanked the Goldsboro legion squad, scattering 4 hits over 6 innings, striking out 11 batters. In the 3rd, Goldsboro mounted its charge, combining 2 hits and a walk to load the bases with 0 outs. But Povse mowed down the next 2 batters, and forced a harmless fly to end the only serious scoring challenge. The Bulls hitters finally broke through in the 4th after Tony Sanchez opened up with a 2B, moved to third on a bunt-single by Patrick Graham, followed by a bases-clearing 2-RBI 3B by Tyler Lapp into the right field corner. Tyler Pickard’s FC scored Lapp, and the Bulls never looked back. In the 7th, Pickard smoked an outside pitch over the left center fence for his first HR of the season! Jack Sinopoli followed with his second 1B of the game, and scored on Smith Prevost’s RBI 2B. Graham finished off the game, striking out one.
